美祿巧克力蔓越莓杯杯蛋糕 Milo Chocolate Cranberry Cup Cake



今天的下午茶, 主角其實是烘培紙摺的紙杯. 上次, 看到摺得很好看的紙杯, 很想嘗試. 有一次紙杯脫色, 被嚇到了, 我想用烘培紙會比較好而且也滿好看的, 對嗎? :)

味道太好了, 搶了紙杯的鋒頭. 我自己不是很喜歡巧克力蛋糕, 要讓我覺得好吃, 就得讓味道更有層次 .... 成功 !!



Today afternoon tea snack,  Milo Chocolate Cranberry Cup Cake. Actually, the main role is the paper cup. I  was learning how to fold the paper cup using baking paper since last time I saw the paper cups were beautifully folded. I had a bad experience once the paper cup decoloring I thought using baking paper will be safer and it looks good too, right?

The taste of the cup cake is too good to grab more attention than the paper cup. I don't really like chocolate cake. To let me eat, it must  have more different tastes in my mouth.. I think I have just made it right, Hurray !!

早上弄一份這樣的早餐, 真得有種單身的感覺. 心情格外的輕鬆. 全麥吐司, 水果再加上起司稍微的烤一烤, 起司融化就行了, 不要烤得太焦. 配上一杯淡咖啡, 早上您好 !! :)

Having a breakfast like this made me felt single again. Nice mood indeed in the morning. Whole wheat toast, fruits and cheese baked for a while until the cheese melted, don't over cook the toast. Plus one  mug of light coffee ... All I have to say is "Good Morning !! " :)

人心果香蕉蛋糕Sapodilla(Chikoo) banana cake


三更半夜做蛋糕! 沒辦法啦, 忙玩已經很晚了, 這些水果一定要儘快處理掉. 香蕉被帶回來的時候, 壓壞了, 那好, 做香蕉蛋糕吧! 發現了一個過熟的人心果, 那好, 拿來做蛋糕吧! 二合一, 會是什麼味道呢? 我只能說, 又多了一個食譜. 想不到那麼就沒做蛋糕, 竟能一氣呵成 ...

在做的時候, 人心果的味道很濃, 或許香蕉不是很熟. 烤的時候, 香蕉的味道會慢慢出來. 烤好的蛋糕別有一番風味. 水果香, 綿綿帶有一點溼溼, 完全無添加, 無牛油少油份, 吃起來無負擔.. :)

I have no choice to make a cake in the middle of the night. Too many chores to do and those fruits have to get rid of it. Bananas were mashed when bringing back. Ok, just make a cake! One chikoo was over ripe. Ok, just make a cake! Two in one. What will it taste? All I can say I have one more recipe. It has been time I did not make cake and I made it!

When making the cake, the fragrance of chikoo was strong, maybe the banana was ripe enough for cake, but when baking the cake, the fragrance of banana was getting stronger. When the cake was done, it has a very special fragrance. Fragrance of fruits, soft and little bit wet, no additives at all, no butter and less oil, nice to eat and good to health :)

2014冬至 ~ 天然湯圓 紫色系 All Natural Tang Yuan for DongZhi Festival (purple theme)


因為發生了一些事, 好久都沒有更新, 希望大家沒有忘記這個部落格. 昨天, 有人問我:"今天是不是冬至?", 想一想, 好像是, 趕緊買材料做湯圓, 想說沒什麼準備, 內餡來不及做, 就做簡單的湯圓.

我不是很喜歡吃湯圓, 因為不喜歡糯米粉的味道和那種哽喉的感覺. 記得小時候, 紅白湯圓加上加了姜(沒記錯的話)的糖水, 沒有很吸引我, 所以, 我不是很記得"冬至".

想了想, 沒了內餡要用什麼去壓過糯米粉的味道? 首先, 先要把湯圓弄得美美的, 要有好看的顏色, 當然, 那一定要用天然的色素, 找來了紫萬年青屬, 楊桃, 紅蘿蔔做了三色湯圓, 做了不同的造型, 傳統單色圓形, 混色圓形, 圓柱形, 還有彩蛋 :)

湯底大概是只此一次, 下不為例. 舅媽送的紫竹蔗, 紫萬年青要我煮湯水喝, 那正好就拿來當湯圓的湯底好了, 沒想到意外的大受歡迎, 一大鍋沒剩, 大讚好吃. ^_^

我搞錯了, 今天才是冬至, 祝大家冬至快樂!!

Somethings had happened to me. I was unable to do the updating. Hopefully, people will still remember my blog.

I was asked yesterday  :"  Is today Dong Zhi?", I guessed it was, so I immediately prepared for making tangyuan (Glutinous rice balls) but I had no time for making fillings. Thus, I made some simple Tangyuan.

I don't really like Tangyuan because I don't like the taste of glutinous rice powder and the choking feeling of eating it. When I was kid, red and white tangyuan with ginger(if I'm no wrong) sweet soup did not attracted me at all. I guess this is the reason I always forget the Dongzhi festival.

After some thoughts, how to cover the taste of glutinous rice powder without fillings?First of all, I needed to make some beautiful tangyuan to make it more attractive. O! Color is important. No doubt, we must use natural colors. I used rhoeo Spathacea, starfruit and carrot to have three colors tangyuan.
I made different shapes for this year, single color traditional tangyuan, mixed colors round, cylindrical shape and colorful egg shape.

I only can make once soup base for this year because the ingredients are from my auntie's garden. She gave me some rhoeo Spathaceas and purple bamboo canes for making dessert. I thought it might be a good idea to make the soup for tangyuan. Unexpectedly, they love it, whole big pot finished and praising delicious ^_^

I was wrong the Dongzhi Festival is on Today not yesterday. Hope you all have a happy DongZhi !!

1/8全麥蔬菜香菇雞包子1/8 Whole wheat vegetable mushroom chicken baozi(steamed bun)


等待嘗試已久的包子, 終於都出爐了. 包子皮做得很好, 可內餡有點差強人意, 因為不小心其中的調味料倒過頭了, 還好加了熟蛋, 又扳回了一點. 這個食譜也是為健康早餐設計的, 也很方便, 收進冰箱, 隨時可以蒸來吃 :)

Longing to try for so long and finally, I made it. The steamed buns were well done but less satisfied with the fillings because one of the seasoning had accidentally been added more. Nonetheless, the boiled eggs had added credit for the taste. This recipe is also designed for  healthy breakfast. It's convenient to keep in the fridge and you can have it anytime, just steam it to reheat.

全麥起司蛋餅whole wheat cheese egg rolls


得感謝今早沒留早餐給我的人, 讓我在餓急之下, 想了一個食譜, 一個健康早餐. 不配醬料, 其實也很好吃, 加了辣椒醬, 番茄醬, 會失去原味, 加了紅紅的醬料只是想讓畫面好看一點.

我放很少的油, 一點都不油膩. 我想以後早餐就這樣了, 畢竟我還是比較喜歡鹹點 , 還可以有多變化^_^

Thank to someone did not save the last piece of  spring onion cake for  breakfast to me this morning. I had nothing for breakfast  made me think of a new recipe for egg rolls, a healthy breakfast, under my hunger.  It's tasty enough without any sources. Chilly and tomato source will cover the taste of original. I just made it looked nicer when photographing.

I put least oil.Thus, it won't be oily. I guessed I will make it as my breakfast the day after. After all, I like salty more than sweet snacks and it can have different ingredients according to my favorites. :)

紫薯饅頭purple sweet potato raisin mantou


好久都沒更新, 不曉得這個blog有沒有被遺忘 :)

是啊, 出國去了. 到美國的第一個作品. 想不到我在這裡可以找到紫薯, 原本只是想買些番薯煮糖水, 發現是紫薯, 真的是心喜若狂. 雖然道具不足, 還是成功, 更加歡喜, 哈哈哈!!

It has been long time not updating my posts. Hopefully, this blog won't be forgotten ...
Yes, I was abroad. The first thing I made in USA was purple sweet potato mantou. I bought some sweet potatoes for making dessert, never thought that I could find purple sweet potatoes here. It's really a big surprise to me and it's my first try on purple sweet potatoes to make mantou.
haha! Well done even I did have proper cookwares to use. Feeling wonderful indeed!

楊桃海綿蛋糕 StarFruit Sponge Cake


真的好忙好忙, 公事家務事占據了大部分時間, 已經很少進廚房. 相片也沒整理, 那天不小心把SD 卡的資料全刪了, 雖然做了restore但還沒檢查那些不見了. 

家裡楊桃成熟時, 理應要做有楊桃口味的烘陪. 我做了楊桃海綿蛋糕. 如果你喜歡蜂蜜蛋糕, 你應該也會喜歡楊桃蛋糕. 口感清淡, 但會口齒留香 ......

Busy, busy, busy...Spent most of the time on my work and housework, less time in my kitchen. Plenty of photos have not arranged yet. My SD card was deleted accidentally, although I had tried to rescued but I haven't checked the restored files. I doubt I can remember which files have been missing :P

When the star fruits ripened, should have something baking with it. I made Star Fruit Sponge Cake. If you like honey cake, you should like it too. Light taste and left scent in your mouth .....

芒果巧克力牛油蒸蛋糕 Mango Chocolate Butter Steam Cake


這些日子都懶懶的, 又忙忙的, 有一些等待著我處理的剩餘材料, 今天給他搞定, 東拼西湊弄出了個蛋糕. 炎熱的天氣, 壓根都不去想, 煎啊炸啊烤啊的食物, 就蒸個蛋糕吧!

天啊! 好醜喔! 不想做記綠, 反正是隨興創作. 吃了一片, 蛋糕很軟, 味道很好, 拍了拍了 ..... ^_^

Having  lazy and busy days recently, some leftover ingredients are waiting for me to get rid of them. OK, let's do it today. Such a hot weather, I better made something without baking and frying. How about a steam cake? Just nice for afternoon tea :)

O! No!Looked bad when I opened the steamer cover. It's ok. Anyway, I won't make any record. However, I changed my mind after eating one piece of it. Soft and good taste, so here you are

素料理 Vegetarian Cuisines


蔬菜煮得很油, 而且用的是炸過麵筋類的油, 大量的人工調味料, 加上麵筋製品在製作過程的添加劑, 人工調味料, 這樣的素食料理, 並不健康. 如果要排除這些人工增味劑, 加工食品, 要煮一道好吃又美味的素食, 感覺有點困難. 炒一盤蔬菜, 沒什麼問題, 可以像平時一樣料理. 但是, 像我們習慣用肉熬湯煮出濃郁的湯底, 可素素素, 又不能加人工調味料, 還要簡單快捷, 要如何煮出美味的湯底呢?

前些日子, 用了不同現有的食材煮了湯, 味道都很好, 我喜歡, 家人也喜歡.

If the cooked vegetable is too oily and the oil is reused after frying the seitan or wheat gluten products, lots of artificial seasoning, flavors, especially those processed gluten products which have additives, lots of artificial seasoning, flavors, I won't agree that they are healthy even they don't contain any meats. Cooking vegetarian cuisines sounds a little bit difficult without those flavor enhancers. For me, pan-fry a plate of vegetable is quite simple but how to cook a nice and delicious vegetable soup, especially needing less time to cook?

Days before, I used different ingredients to try cooking some soups. They all tastes good. I like it. My family like it either :)

巧克力香橙蛋卷Chocolate Orange Rolls


卷卷卷, 最怕的雞蛋捲, 因為喜歡面朝上露出淺褐色表皮, 不小心可是會破相的哦! 家人都不喜歡whipped cream 鮮奶油, 家裡也沒有瓶裝果醬, 所以每次做, 內餡都要傷腦筋. 不過, 這樣也好, 可以激發創意 .......

Roll, roll, roll. What a horrible egg rolls! I like rolling in to show the brown top on surface. However, this will be ruined if it stuck on the lying surface.
My family don't like neither the whipped cream nor jams. Thus, every time I makes the egg rolls, it's a big headache to think of the filling but the good thing is it's a good chance to be more creative ... :)

手打全麥香蕉麵包+ 糖水 Hand Kneading Whole Wheat Banana Bread+dessert


下雨的星期天總得弄個吃的, 前些日子, 買了有幾全麥麵粉, 家裡又有香蕉, 做麵包吧!
想不到隨意弄一弄, 弄出個超軟麵包, 又可以多寫一道食譜, 樂也 :)
今晚就吃了一半, 留一半當明天的早餐..

手打也能打出薄膜, 神! 希望明天手, 肩膀不要痛得太厲害 .....
辛苦歸辛苦, 做麵包的感覺越來越多, 越來越好. 雖然, 有很多局限, 也沒有很好的工具, 但我相信我一定做得到 .... ^_^

No doubt, I have to made something to eat on raining Sunday. I had brought a packet of organic whole wheat flour few weeks ago. And now, I have bananas. OK, let's go for banana bread!
I did have any recipe for that and I just followed my feeling. What a surprise, it turned out to be a very soft bread. Happy to have one more recipe of my own :)
Tonight, half of the breads had already been eaten, saved the rest for tomorrow breakfast ....

Wow, I kneaded the dough until it had paper-thin film. Hopefully, my hand and shoulder won't pain too much .. ^_^

番薯薏米糖水 Sweet potato barley dessert

今天也煮了糖水. 橙白兩色番薯, 薏米, 自製的鹹湯圓. 一直被橙色番薯的顏色給迷惑, 沒想到白番薯的味道更香濃, 這一鍋吃光光 .... :)

Today, I also made some dessert, sweet potato barley dessert. It has orange and white sweet potato, barley and homemade tangyuan. Most of the time, I was attracted by the color of orange sweet potato but today, I found that white potato has richer and more fragrant taste. Yummy dessert, all finished .... :)

沙葛豆腐煲Pot of Yam Bean Doufu


昨天衛塞節假日, 人有點不舒服, 沒打算要煮晚餐. 可是, 有人堅持要吃住家菜, 沒辦法啦, 只好起立乖乖進廚房, 煮個懶人餐. 這個懶人餐, 總比快熟麵強多了. 原本要來個素的, 加了蝦米, 就不能算素食. 這道料理, 不加葷料, 也可以做成素食. 吃葷的話, 可以加雞丁, 味道也會很好.

這一鍋的材料有Ingredients in the pot:   
1. 香蔥蛋卷 Spring Onion Egg Rolls
2. 豆腐 Doufu
3. 沙葛 Yam Bean
4. 小白菜 Green Vegetable
4. 蝦米 Dried Prawn
5. 黑木耳Black fungus
6. 蒜頭 Garlics

這樣子簡單的"一鍋熟", 在忙碌的生活中, 或只有自己吃飯時, 懶得煮, 又懶得出去, 懶人餐的確是很好的選擇, 簡單的烹飪法, 又不失營養 :)

I didn't feel well on yesterday Vesak holiday. Thus, I had no intention to make dinner. However, someone insisted on having home cook for dinner. I had no choice to stand up and walk into my kitchen cooking dinner.

aha!The best choice was "lazy meal" which is always better than instant noodles. At first, I would like to cook vegetarian meal but after adding dried prawn, I don't think I can call it vegetarian meal. However, it can be vegetarian meal if opt out any meats or seafood. Another option for this cook is replaced the dried prawn with chicken will give you the good taste too.

When you feel lazy, lazy to go out, the simple "ready in one pot" dishes is a good choice after a hectic work and for one having dinner alone. The cooking method is simple but won't trade in the nutrition :)

雞絲海帶炒飯+奶油蘑菇湯 Chicken Seaweed Fried and Mushroom Cream Soup


忙碌的一天, 晚餐簡單吃, 煮個炒飯加個湯, 那就一餐了, 比起外食也強得多 :)

那就來個雞絲海帶炒飯和奶油蘑菇湯. 不油膩, 少油, 不需隔夜飯, 也能炒出好吃的炒飯.

自家煮奶油湯可以調整牛油的份量, 鹽份也比較低. 這樣的搭配, 也不會有很大得負擔.

看似簡單的一頓, 準備起來也不能馬虎, 細活也不少, 準備時間也差不多,

只是用餐的時候, 會比較放鬆一點 .......

After a hectic day, it's good to have a simple dinner. Fried rice and soup is just nice and it's better than outside food :)

I made Chicken Seaweed Fried and Mushroom Cream Soup for dinner. Not too oily and no need overnight rice still can make delicious fried rice. You can adjust the quantity of butter and salt for homemade cream soup. Totally, it won't be a burden for your body.

Look simple but still had a lot of work to do to prepare a dinner like this. Sometimes, a simple meal makes me feel more relax ... :)

菜包子Vegetarian Steamed Buns


今天的下午茶, 素菜包子. 現炒, 現做, 現包, 趁熱吃.....

第一次用自己的方法, 第一次做包子, 所以沒加全麥粉,  想看看成果如何, 下次再做全麥包子.
麵糰原本揉得很好, 下半場有點失魂, 成品表皮底下有點小坑洞, 沒關係啦, 這樣才有話題. 380克中筋麵粉, 大約可以做10個, 這個體積剛剛好, 不會太大也不會太小.

午餐沒吃飯, 只吃了點心,  這個太好了, 吃了兩個 :)

玫瑰全麥斑馬蛋糕 Whole Wheat Zebra Rose Cake


曾有網友問玫瑰可以除了拿來做燕菜還能做什麼? 我想應該可以用在蛋糕上, 所以寫了玫瑰蛋糕食譜. 第一口吃起來好像沒什麼味道, 可沒想到會口齒留香, 越咀嚼越有味道, 健康蛋糕 :)

A member of a facebook group asked what roses can be used for except making agar-agar. I think to use it for making cake will be nice. Therefore, I made a recipe for the rose cake. Not very heavy taste for first bite, but the fragrance will left in your month after you chew. The more you chew it'll taste nicer and tasty. It's a healthy cake :)

全麥香蘭kaya層層蛋糕 Whole Wheat Kaya Layers Cake


有一粒椰子就可以變出很多花樣. 之前做班蘭蛋糕, 總覺得少了一種香味, 在想應該是沒放椰漿, 所以, 一定要做一個有椰香味的班蘭蛋糕. 蛋糕做出來了, 不夠甜, 還好之前有做kaya. 把蛋糕切成三分, 塗上kaya醬, 真的是錦上添花, 好吃得不得了. 冷藏了更好吃. 
可惜, 相片看不清楚層次, 因為都是班蘭色  :)

If you have one coconut, you can have many cuisines. The pandan cakes I made before had lack a kind of fragrance. I think this is because i didn't add coconut milk, so I have to add some coconut milk this time. 
When the cake was done, i found it's not sweet enough. Luckily, I had made some kaya before. Thus, i cut the cakes into few layers and spread on some kaya. This made the cake became more tasty. It even tasted better after refrigerated.
The layers in the picture are not so obvious due to the same color I had used, the pandan natural color.

I have a lot of pandan leaves :) It's good to have cooking ingredients in your garden.




山藥蜂蜜全麥饅頭 Chinese Yam Honey Whole Wheat Mantou


這次設計的饅頭好養生. 用了好吃又健康得新鮮山藥做主角, 還有較健康的全麥麵粉. 

這裡不像中國, 台灣, 饅頭不是很普遍, 家人也不習慣吃饅頭, 好多時候, 都是自己默默把它吃完. 這個饅頭兩天就吃完了, 又軟, 有甜味, 又香, 隔天不必蒸過, 也一樣很軟 :)

I made a good to health mantou recipe. The main role of the mantou is fresh chinese yam which is a very healthy ingredient. Besides, I used healthier whole wheat instead of plain flour.

Here, mantou is not as common as in China or Taiwan. My family is not used to it as well. Most of the time, I have to finish it by myself. However, the mantous were finished in two days time. It's soft, little sweet and having good fragrance and it's still soft in the next day unlike normal mantous they needed to steam before eat.

小熊牛油雞蛋糕Little Bear Butter Egg Cakes


說實在的, 我不是很喜歡吃傳統的雞蛋糕, 只是對它的造型有興趣. 小時候, 快過年時, 外婆會用個大缸打雞蛋, 我每次都覺得她好辛苦喔! 我會幫她烤蛋糕, 烤具是那種上下有火炭的, 很熱. 因為不喜歡傳統雞蛋糕的口感, 我更改了配方和做法, 這是沒有泡打粉, 蘇打粉或任何添加發泡劑的雞蛋糕, 比傳統雞蛋糕要柔軟綿密.

沒有雞蛋糕的模, 這個小熊的模做得有點勉強, 但總算也做出來了. 

I don't really like the traditional egg cakes but the shapes are quite interesting. When I was a kid, my granny used to make a lot of egg cakes before new year. She used a large vat and large spiral whisker to whisk the eggs. I always felt that it's too hard for her. I helped her to bake the cakes by using a very old fashion tool which has chacoals burning on top and below. Because I don't like the taste of traditional egg cakes, I changed the recipe and the method of making. My recipe does not have any baking powder, baking soda and additive leavening agents. They taste better than the traditional egg cakes, softer and tenderer.

I don't have the mould for egg cakes. It's hard to made the egg cakes with the mould, the litte bear mould,  I have but finally still have it done :)

素意大利麵 Vegetarian Spaghetti


看到電視劇裡的人吃著充滿奶油香味的西式料理, 忍不住也想來一盤富有奶油味的食物. 好久沒煮義大利麵了, 突然想了一種醬汁想試試看, 那就心動不如行動, 這就去煮 ....

不知道要如何命名這碟義大利面, 因為裡面沒有肉類海鮮, 姑且叫它素意大利麵. 醬汁用得是新鮮的番茄煮成的番茄醬,  還有一些義大利麵醬汁的材料, 蔬菜. 沒想到自己栽種的薄荷也派上了用場. 

這樣的晚餐, 你會喜歡嗎?

Seeing people in the drama eating cream flavor Western cuisine, made me wanted to have a rich creamy taste of food too. An idea just came into my mind. I would like to try a sauce for the spaghetti. Ok the spaghetti was just nice for the dinner.

I don't know how to name it. There are no meats and seafood, so I just call it  Vegetarian Spaghetti. I used fresh tomatoes for tomato paste, some spaghetti sauce ingredients and fresh vegetable. The mint I planted was added in the ingredients too :)

手作全麥小麵包 Hand Made Whole Wheat Buns



算算算, 什麼種? 什麼種? 燙種, 中種, 亦是直接發酵法, 亂亂亂!!! 今天想了一個做法, 做出來的麵包好軟. 材料自個兒算算量量, 這次得全麥麵包用了85%有機全麥麵粉.全程手工製作, 手打得有種快要脫臼的感覺. 在揉打的過程, 麵糰的變化, 可以實實在在的感覺到. 不過有點花時間就是了...

一直不討喜的全麥麵包能這麼柔軟好吃, 真的是開心 ^_^

Forget the calculation, forget the methods of making bread, all make me confused. Today, I first tried my own way to make some buns, haha! They are so soft. I also followed my new recipe. I used 85% whole wheat flour. Without dough mixer and bread maker, all I have are my hands. During the  kneading, I could feel the changing of dough. However, it's time consuming ...

水果優酪乳 Fruits yogurt


熱熱熱, 天氣實在是太熱了, 下午弄了個冰冰涼涼的健康水果優酪乳. 用的是前兩天自製的優酪 乳, 這幾天也從院子採收了一些楊桃. 楊桃搭配雪梨, 加上豐富的奶香味, 棒棒棒!!

The weather is extremely hot. I made some cold stuff yet healthy fruits yogurt. The yogurt was made two days ago and the star fruits were collected from my yard. The fruits mixed by star fruit and pear and rich of the fragrance milk, mmm...so.... nice :)

蒸紅糖香蕉蛋糕Red Sugar Banana Steamed Cake


昨天又想了一個食譜. 天氣太熱, 又想做蛋糕, 蒸個蛋糕吧! 家裡剛好買了香蕉, 嘗試用一種新的方法做香蕉蛋糕, OK 很好. 昨天已經吃了一半, 冷藏後, 今天我只搶到半片, 今天吃更好吃 :)

I thought of a new recipe yesterday. Since the weather was hot, I thought it's better to make a steamed cake. There were some bananas. I tried a different way to make banana cake. It turned out delicious and satisfied. Half of the cake was finished yesterday. After refrigerated, I only have half piece today and it tasted better than yesterday :)

自家日式咖哩 Homemade Japanese Style Chicken Curry


選來選去, 選這個吧! 特色是醬汁是自己調配的, 不必使用現成的日本咖哩醬塊, 感覺有點小小的成就感, 主要是覺得咖哩醬塊有添加劑, 想要更健康一點的煮法 :)

I made the sauce without using the Japanese curry. Feeling great and thought of more healthier cooking without adding the curry cubes which I think they have food additives.

無椰漿密瓜西米露honeydew sago dessert without coconut milk


哇! 熱天, 鮮少做冰甜點的我也忍不住要弄個冰點, 打開冰箱就有的吃, 涼快些 ......
做了無椰漿密瓜西米露, 用純鮮奶取代了椰漿, 雖然少了椰漿的香氣, 但也是很好喝 :)

Hot, hot weather!! Although, I seldom make cold desserts but I wish I can have something cold when I open the fridge, cool....

I made honeydew sago dessert without coconut milk. I replaced coconut milk with fresh milk. It has no rich coconut milk fragrance but still a very nice dessert. All fresh ....

黃梨餅Pineapple Cookies

過年必備年餅~ 黃梨餅. 南洋媳婦都要會做...哈,也沒有那麼嚴格啦, 可以買現成的 :) 不過我很少買現成的, 好吃的黃梨餅還是homemade得比較好吃. 黃梨餅最重要的的是黃梨餡, 不過, 準備起來真得很花時間,現在很多人都買現成的黃梨餡. 我還是喜歡自己煮的黃梨餡, 再麻煩也沒辦法 :)

過完年才做黃梨餅, 還是一樣旺啦! 剩下的餅皮, 動動手腳, 做成了瓜子餅, 好香好脆...好好吃 :)

Pineapple cookies is a must on Chinese New year. I guess every married woman in Asean countries must know how to make it.... Ha, I'm just kidding. You can buy the ready made in new year time. However, I seldom buy those on shelves. The better pineapple cookies are homemade.

The main role of the cookies is pineapple paste but it's very troublesome to cook. Nowaday, lots of people just buy it from bakery ingredient shops. No matter how time consuming for cooking the paste, I still insist to cook it by myself :)

I used the left of the dough, after adding some more ingredients, to make pumpkin seed cookies. Smell good and fragile ... delicious!!

想做個蛋糕, 在構思什麼口味好呢? 通常是有什麼材料, 就用什麼. 在冰箱找到了香蕉, 又剛買了紅糖. 就這個吧! 香蕉真的是很好的天然香料, 加上紅糖得味道, 蛋糕的味道很濃郁, 口感又軟又綿, 能不扣入人心嗎?... :) 成功!!

Tried to make a cake but what flavor for this time? Normally, I'll get it from what I have. I found banana in the fridge and I just bought some dark brown sugar, locally called red sugar. Banana is indeed a very nice natural fragrance. With the taste of red sugar, the taste of cake is rich and soft. Again, one more recipe for mycook notes :)

干貝炒鮮菇Dried Scallops with fresh Abalone Mushroom


第一次用從菜園, 養菇場買回來的新鮮材料, 真的迫不及待要馬上炒來吃, 從姊姊的雪櫃裡找到了干貝, 先斬後奏, 炒了一盤干貝炒鮮菇, 鮮度和鮮度都有了, 新鮮的食材, 果然是棒極了! :)

It's my first time to get fresh ingredients from vegetable farm and mushroom farm during my holiday trip. I just couldn't wait to cook those vegetables even after an exhausted travelling. Too good to find some dried scallops in my sister's fridge. I cooked them with the ingredients I brought back without asking my sister. I hoped she won't mind :)
Yes, the taste is just excellent with those fresh ingredients :D

原本是滷鴨的煮法我把它用雞取代. 老實說我還真不知道上哪去買鴨子. 沒關係啦, 好吃就行 :)

I used braised duck method to cook chicken. Frankly, I really have no idea where to buy a duck. The taste is nice, so I think it's OK to replace with chicken:)

今年是有什麼材料就煮什麼, 沒有固定菜單, 家裡人口也不多, 簡單的年菜, 也吃得飽飽的, 最後還來個"年年有餘", 樂也:)

I made the dishes according to the ingredients I could get on New Year for New Year Eve. It's simple and not many family members. We still could have fulled up our stomach and left some for tomorrow. It's good to have more to left in our tradition :)

年初一晚餐也簡單吃, 就弄了一碗靓湯有機糙米米粉, 菜..

廚房筆記 Cook Notes ~ 調味四君子


【蔥、薑、蒜、椒--調味四君子】

蔥、薑、蒜、椒,人稱調味“四君子”,它們不僅能調味,而且能殺菌去黴,對人體健康(健康食品)大有裨益。但在烹調中如何投放才能更提味、更有效,卻是一門學問。

~ 肉食重點多放椒 燒肉時宜多放花椒,牛肉、羊肉更應多放。花椒有助暖作用,還能去毒。 

~ 魚類重點多放薑 魚腥氣大,性寒,食之不當會產生嘔吐。生薑既可緩和魚的寒性,又可解腥味。做時多放薑,可以幫助消化(消化食品)。 

~ 貝類重點多放蔥 大蔥不僅能緩解貝類(如螺、蚌、蟹等)的寒性,而且還能抗過敏。不少人食用貝類後會產生過敏性咳嗽、腹痛等症,烹調時就應多放大蔥,避免過敏反應。 

~ 禽肉重點多放蒜 蒜能提味,烹調雞、鴨、鵝肉時宜多放蒜,使肉更香更好吃,也不會因為消化不良而瀉肚子。

自家肉骨茶Homemade Chinese Herbals Ribs Soup


好久好久都沒煮肉骨茶, 有人提議要吃, 想想也好, 當補補身子吧! 大部份人都用現成的肉骨茶材料包, 可我就覺得味道不夠濃, 自己配了些中藥材, 這樣煮出來才有古早味, 也才有自家的特色.
盛入阿婆留下來的碗, 真的好有古早的特色. 吃著一碗肉骨茶總會讓人想起, 辛勤工作的先輩們...也總會聊起那個故事...

It has been long time not cooking the ribs soup. Someone suggested and I thought it's not too bad to have some for improving my health. Nowaday,  most of the people use "bak kut teh" packet to cook the soup but I feel the taste is not strong enough. Thus, I used some Chinese medicine herbs as the main ingredients.It'll have taste like the old day and it's my own recipe :)

Putting it into a bowl left by granny, it looked like as if in the old day. Having a bowl of ribs soup always reminds you the hardworking of the ancestors who had traveled far away from China and their story.....

做粥口诀表

若要皮肤好,粥里放红枣。
若要不失眠,粥里添白莲。
腰酸肾气虚,煮粥放板栗。
心虚气不足,粥加桂圆肉。
头昏多汗症,粥里加薏仁。
润肺又止咳,粥里加百合。
消暑解热毒,常饮绿豆粥。
乌发又补肾,粥加核桃仁。
若要降血压,煮粥加荷叶。
滋阴润肺好,煮粥加银耳。
春季防流脑,荠菜煮粥好。
健脾助消化,煮粥添山楂。
梦多又健忘,粥里加蛋黄。
利尿消肿治脚气,赤豆粥里胜补剂。
消热生津又和胃,甘蔗做粥来补胃。

海帶蔬菜炒飯Seaweed Vegetable Fried Rice



下午有人肚子餓吵著要吃飯, 我說:"那我煮個炒飯" 剛好有一晚隔夜飯. 想不到這樣炒也很好吃, 又給我添了多一個食譜. 吃完了, 還想要, 沒了. 下次吧!

This afternoon, someone was asking for rice. I said :" Is that OK I cook you fried rice". It's good to have one bowl of rice was left yesterday. I never thought that vegetable fried  rice can be so tasteful. Happy for me to have one more secret recipe.
Some more? no more. Have to wait for next time :)
