椰香玉米糕 Corn Cake

大部分人在做玉米糕的時候, 都用現成的罐頭玉米醬. 我就偏要一顆一顆的拔下, 再把它打成醬. 好香哦! 濃濃的玉米香... 這次的試做, 糕體軟了一點, 卻能自成一格:) 下次會再做調整, 也要甜一點, 甜品嘛, 甜一點別人比較喜歡....

Normally people will use can corn paste for the corn cake. I just like to trouble myself by picking the corns one by one and blend it into paste. Mmm, the fragrance is so nice..... The cake is a bit soft but it tasted nice as well. However, I'll make adjustment of the recipe and add sweeter since most people like sweeter ....

昨天醃好了雞肉, 下午拿出來煎一煎, 不等到晚餐, 偶爾一個這樣的午餐也不錯 :)

The chicken was marinated yesterday. Could not wait until dinner, I just fried it for lunch. It's not too bad to have such a lunch sometimes :)

咖哩糙米米粉 Brown Rice Noodle Curry


中秋節那天, 要買午餐時, 才知道好多檔子沒開. 沒辦法啦, 簡簡單單得弄一餐, 那就煮個咖哩米粉吧!

At lunch time, I just found out lots of stalls were closed on festival day. I had to prepare a meal in such a short time, so I made the simple dish, brown rice noodle curry :)

從煮糖漿, 炒餡料, 做外皮花了4天的時間, 功夫活做了很多, 好不好吃?

月餅不是很甜, 天然無添加的餡料, 可惜, 黃糖用完了, 只好用白糖

Spent 4 days for cooking the sugar syrup, frying the filling and making the skin of the cakes. A lot of skill work to do, how should it taste? :)

Not very sweet and no additives in the filling. It should be perfect if I used brown sugar but the brown sugar was running out, so I replaced it with white sugar

自家薏米水 Homemade Barley Drink




幾乎所有的傳統咖啡店都有賣薏米水, 可自家煮的比較濃也沒那麼甜. 又熱又濕的天氣, 要常喝薏米水去濕. 有時我會搭配其他甜品一起煮, 不過, 今天單純一點, 來個純正薏米水

Almost all the traditional coffee shops are selling barley drink but homemade barley drink is more thicker and less sweet. For the hot and high humidity weather, regularly drinking barley drink helps getting rid of the body humidity. Sometimes, I'll cook the barley with other desserts but today, I just made it simple, a pure barley drink :)





Ondeh-Ondeh



Ondeh-Ondeh 一種本地的甜品, 天然的綠色素來自香蘭葉, 內餡是一種叫gula melaka 的椰糖. 吃的時候, 小心一咬, 糖汁滴下來. 我把糖弄粗一些, 所以糖沒完全變成糖漿, 吃的時候就不會有這個問題. 他們說這樣也很好吃. 還有人說比外面買得還好吃.. 成功! 耶!

我覺得這個比麻糬還好吃, 他的層次感比較多. 雖然, 椰糖是主味, 不過, 椰絲也加分很多, 而且在外觀上, 增色不少.

A local dessert ~ Ondeh-Ondeh. The round little greens balls with natural color comes from pandan leaves have the filling called gula melaka( coconut sugar). You have to be careful when you eat it. After boiling the sugar will become liquid, it will drop when you bite it. I made the sugar more coarser so that it won't be melted fully. They said it tastes good too. Some even said it tastes better than those selling in the market. Yes, I  made it, ya!!

椰的饗宴Coconut feast

昨天忙了一整天就為了這椰的事. 都說是挑剔啦, 小店明明就有刨椰機, 怎都要拎回家自己刨. 那刨椰機成天都在店門口, 想也知道那.....

So busy yesterday just because of a coconut. Sounds picky ah?The grocery shop has the coconut shredder machine why should I have to do it myself. The machine is always in  front of the grocery shop and you should know that ....





刮了零零碎碎的椰肉丟進了黑糯米粥煮. 取得椰漿之後, 
Dropped some pieces of coconut into the black glutinous rice porridge before getting the coconut milk. 




做了kaya 和煮咖哩菜

肉丸湯 Meatball Soup


小時候, 外婆很喜歡做肉丸子湯給我們吃, 當然我們也是很喜歡. 我已經很少煮豬肉, 今晚, 在周末的夜裡, 當晚餐. 吃一碗兒時的甜蜜...

在肉丸子裡加多了酒, 味道還真好, 當然, 我加的是洋酒 ....
不過, 還是有點怕, 看了生肉, 煮了也不太敢吃 :P

When I was a kid, grandma loved to cook meatball soup for us. We all loved it for sure. Now, I seldom cook pork but tonight just brought back a little memory for the weekend dinner.

I added more wine in the meatballs. It tastes good but I still not very comfortable with pork after I have seen the fresh meat :P



一口筍粿One bite dumpling(Yam Bean Dumpling)


周末下午茶 Weekend Teatime  ~

我很喜歡吃筍粿, 本地的筍粿是沒有筍的哦! 那為甚麼他叫筍粿, 不要問我我也不知道. 我想這裡比較不容易找到筍, 所以就用沙葛代替了. 我喜歡吃也是因為喜歡吃沙葛啦!

把它變裝, 變成像小點心, 一口就能吃完, 所以稱他為"一口筍粿TM "

I love "bamboo shoot kueh" but there has  no "bamboo shoots" in the filling, so why the locals still call it "bamboo shoot kueh". I have no idea either. I guess maybe we can't find bamboo shoots and we just replace it with yam bean. I like turnips and I think this is the reason I like to eat "bamboo shoot kueh"

I changed the traditional wrapping into a dim sum like. You just need a bite to finish it, so I call it "One Bite Dumpling TM" ....

蜂蜜蛋糕 Honey Cake

看到老同學做蜂蜜蛋糕, 我手又癢了, 當晚就烤了一個蜂蜜蛋糕, 記得之前自己做過蜂蜜蛋糕, 找來找去怎麼都找不著, 哈, 原來自己都忘了寫下來. 很多即興創作就是這樣, 做完就忘了. 有人說, 只要蛋糕有放蜂蜜就是蜂蜜蛋糕,  就做一個全蛋打發的蜂蜜蛋糕吧! 這次, 有新玩法哦!

沒有那種美美的模, 也沒有烘培紙, 就這樣烤了一個蛋糕. 這次只用了4粒蛋, 所以蛋糕沒有很高 :)
不錯, 家人還滿喜歡的 ^_^

I saw my ex-classmate posted her honey cake photo. I immediately left my seat and baked one. Where is my recipe? I remember I had made honey cake before. Ha! I forgot to write down the recipe. This happens most of the time, especially when I try something new in my ingredients, and forget after that :) People say any cakes has honey can be called honey cake, so there are a lot variety. I chose a whole egg whisking method to make the cake. Too lazy to separate the yolks and the egg white and need to wash two bowl .....

買醬油記~ 醬油如何選?


醬油用完了, 跑到超市去, 一向都是用有機醬油和日本醬油, 可偏偏這時候常用的醬油都缺貨, 只好看一下本地品牌得醬油, 又是防腐劑, 又是色素的, 像觸了電一樣, 迅速的放回貨架. 也是啦, 當初就是這樣才會去買有機的 :p 

醬油本身就是一種發酵製成品, 放防腐劑和色素, 一直讓我不解, 也不太合理. 為了多了解一些, 網上搜一搜, 天啊! 居然有"化學醬油",  化學鹽就讓外食族受不了了, 這 ....

有個蠻普遍的牌子, 說是天然釀製的也加了

榛果巧克力醬綠茶雲石蛋糕hazelnut chocolate spread green tea marble cake


看到桌上有一瓶榛果巧克力醬, hihi  不放過, 試試看用沒把握得方式作一個雲石蛋糕. 做法和牛油蛋糕類似, 不過, 我已經捨棄重油蛋糕很久了, 所以這個配方減油, 沒有泡打粉. 家裡只剩下3個A蛋, 那也好, 自己配一配, ㄟ 行了...(喜) ^_^

A bottle of hazelnut chocolate spread on the table. 3 eggs in the kitchen. Ding, ding, ding, no reason not to try to make a cake. I tried a different way making this cake. It's  similar to butter cake but I cut down the quantity of butter and no baking powder added. Wonderful! :)

這個周末的作品, 用來招待客人. 喜歡她的顏色, 也烤得很好, 有點酸酸的味道 ....
This is what I made for this weekend as the treat for the guests. I like the color and it's baked nicely. It tastes a bit sour....


還有一杯好喝的檸檬茶
